In the yearbook there's a picture of Joe ready to throw a football. Above the picture it reads, "I want my men to remember, when gray death sets me free, I was a man who had many friends and many friends had me." That says it all.
The years pass. But a life lived well , no matter how short is never forgotten. The times , of watching, playing and talking baseball, the Sunday afternoon gatherings at Grandmas with everyone watching the ball game and trying to be heard and most of all the laughing. Those memories last forever !

Joe lived down the street from me. The thing that I remember the most is what a good swimmer he was. He seemed to make it look so easy.
