What a shock! Chas was a dear friend. I was so glad we had the opportunity to spend some time together. There is a picture posted on my entry if anyone wants to see a recent picture of Chas. I will miss him!
I haven't seen him in decades, but I still feel sad that he's gone. I saw him every day when we shared a locker in our senior year. In my yearbook he wrote;
"Jim,
It was a pleasure to share a locker with you (especially since you let me hog half of it).
Chaz Dibble"
He liked to be called Chaz, but I always called him Charlie. (I do that with every Charles I know.)
I remembered him as a very smart student, but also a cool guy you could talk to, even if only for two minutes while getting books for the next class.
It would have been great to see him at the next reunion after all these years. I think he might have made the long trip from California if he could. I did get to talk to him on the phone in 2000 about the 30th. He remembered the locker.
